Every Enlivant assisted living community has a Care Services Manager, a position that is staffed by a full-time licensed nurse. Not only is this expertise a key point of difference for Enlivant, it provides our residents with on-going care based on their needs and preferences. We make this expertise available to families considering assisted living.
Our nurses are well versed in the variety of care and services we provide in our own Enlivant communities, and understand the differences between assisted living and other senior housing options. During the evaluation process, our nurses discuss your concerns or the challenges you face, and visit your loved one’s home to observe and assess safety, wellbeing, and healthcare needs.
Help for a Transition to Assisted Living
If the evaluation determines assisted living is the best option, our nurses can discuss that with you and your loved one, listening to your concerns and answering your questions from the viewpoint of our care expert. Our nurses can help prepare your loved one for a move to an Enlivant community. Gathering a preliminary medical and health history and understanding specific living challenges helps our nurses prepare Enlivant staff to deliver thoughtful, individualized care from the day a resident moves in. This also allows our staff to begin a dialogue with your loved one’s physician and other health care providers to build an effective partnership for care and facilitate a smooth and efficient transition into our Enlivant community.
Options for Remaining at Home
We understand that many seniors wish to stay in their homes for as long as possible, and for some seniors, it may be possible with additional support. Our nurses can provide valuable information on under-utilized community resources and support service options such as home and companion care, therapy services, or hospice care. If these are available in your area, our nurses can assist with recommendations and coordination of care so your loved one can remain at home.
